Lets Talk Tarp

When trying to simplify ones backpacking gear, everyonecomes to the point of looking at the weight vs. space oftheir shelter. Tarping gives you the best of both worldswith the lightest possible weight. For example, 8 x10 1.9oz urethane coated ripstop nylon tarp weighs only 20oz can produce a 5 x 7 foot dry area when set up in a "A" frame style; if the tarp is made with 1.3oz siliconeimpregnated ripstop nylon, the weight is a mere 13oz.
